1HTC One X
The quad-core Tegra 3-powered HTC One X lands at the top of both our Android and smartphone list.
Summary
There are two reasons to buy this - you want the very best Android phone at the moment but don't really care about the mediocre battery life, and that you hate the iOS platform from the bottom of your heart!
Platform: Android 4.0.3; Processor: Tegra 3 quad core 1.5GHz; RAM: 1GB; Display: 4.7-inch Super IPS LCD2 (1280 x 720 pixels); Storage: 32GB, no memory expansion slot; Camera: 8MP with 1920 x 1080p (1080p) videos; Battery: 1800mAh
2Apple iPhone 4S
The iPhone4S offers the most fluid smartphone experience with class-leading features and imaging.
Summary
Contrary to what the general opinion suggests, the upgrades are significant. While the dual core processor may not give the illusion of the extra power when compared to the 4 in most usage scenarios, but the moment you open HD games, you know what you have spent the extra money for! The only thing that disappoints - you will have to specify to people that you are using a 4S and not the older 4. It is a bundle of magnificence, but does come dressed in old clothes, and costs quite a bit.
Platform: Apple iOS 5; Processor: Apple A5 dual core 1GHz; RAM: 512MB; Display: 3.5-inch LED IPS with 640x960 pixel resolution; Storage: 16GB; Camera: 8MP with 1080p HD videos; Battery: 1432mAh
3Samsung Galaxy S II i9100
The Samsung Galaxy S II is blazing fast, has the best screen ever and sports a super slim profile.
Summary
What Samsung have managed to package together is a dual core processor, and a lot of other goodies in an unbelievably slim and light form factor. While the plasticky feel is a bit of a disappaointment, the performance on offer will simply blow you away. For anyone who does a lot of gaming on the smartphone, or want a powerful phone, the S II may just be phone for you. If you have Rs 32,890 to spend at this moment, we suggest you order it right away. This is slightly on the expensive side at the moment, and you may choose to wait and watch what happens with the prices in the next month or so. Alternatively, the LG Optimus 2X is also worth checking out, if you want a dual core powered phone which costs a bit less.
Network: Quad Band GSM+ 3G; Processor: ARM Cortex A9 1.2GHz with Orion chipset and Mali 400MP GPU; Display: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED Plus with 480 x 800 resolution; Memory: 16GB internal+ up to 32GB microSD card; Camera: 8MP with 1080p (30fps) video; OS: Android 2.3.3 with TouchWiz 4.0 UI; Battery: 1650 mAh
4Motorola Razr
The Razr is back, and it is better than ever. This time, it is dressed in Kevlar!
Summary
Without doubt, the new Razr looks absolutely fantastic. Manages to pack in a lot of power in what Motorola calls "the world's slimmest phone". While it isn't bullet proof, you can still boast about the Kevlar layer on the rear panel! The only thing we say going against it is the price, when up against the likes of the Samsung Galaxy SII and the HTC Sensation, all offering similar performance. Maybe it's the looks!
Platform: Android 2.3.5; Processor: Cortex A9 with PowerVR SGX540, TI OMAP 4430 chipset @ 1.2GHz; RAM: 1GB; Display: 4.3-inch Super AMOLED with qHD (540x960 pixel) resolution; Camera: 8MP with 1080p HD videos and 1.3MP video call camera; Storage: 16GB internal + microSD slot; Battery: 1780 mAh
5Nokia Lumia 800
Windows Phone Mango arrives. And Nokia ensures that it does, in style.
Summary
It was a long wait for the first Nokia smartphone with Windows Phone OS. And we believe that wait has been a long but successful one. The Lumia 800 seems to be a well designed package - with looks far superior than any other WP phone out there, an excellent display, good battery life and a UI that is thrashing Android's ageing UI hands down. Critically, it again boils down to the pricing bit, and we hope Nokia gets it right.

6Blackberry Bold Touch 9900
The Blackberry Bold Touch 9900 is the slimmest and fastest Blackberry offering QWERTY plus touchscreen
Summary
Sporting a price tag of Rs. 32,490, the Bold 4 does look like it has come nicely dressed in a suit with a crisply pressed shirt. However, beyond the looks, there is a bit of familiarity to the entire package. OS7 looks a lot like the OS6, and the age-old problem of not enough apps just persists. The touchscreen plus QWERTY combo works well. However, we would recommend the latest Bold just for its superb display and the fantastic keypad.

7Samsung Omnia W
Windows Phone experience with latest mango update, vivid super AMOLED screen and smooth performance.
Summary
Windows Phone 7 as an OS has become mighty delicious after the Mango update. I would go on to say Microsoft has managed to offer a better user experience than what Android offers, making WP 7.5 second best only to the iOS. The Omnia W performs very well. Add an excellent battery life and a good display, and the dish is ready to be served, hot

8HTC Radar
A Windows Phone 7.5 device that is an all-rounder, and doesn't cost a lot.
Summary
HTC Radar has elegant aesthetics, sturdy build, a responsive user interface and great camera response. It has everything going for it except the pricing - with an MRP of Rs. 23,990 it has tough competition from Samsung Omnia W which has powerful processor and the Super AMOLED screen. If the pricing is got to the same level (better still, under Omnia W's price) this phone can surely be recommended.
Overall Rating: 7.0

9Nokia Lumia 710
This budget WP 7.5 offering feels and performs like a much more expensive phone.
Summary
Is it just us? Or is any phone with Windows Phone Mango on board just turning out to be amazing? The Nokia Lumia 710 is another example. It takes on the Samsung Omnia W, with literally identical specs and performance. The final decision could quite literally boil down to which one you like more than the other!
Platform: Windows Phone 7.5 (Mango); Processor: Qualcomm MSM8255 @1.4Gz; RAM: 512MB; Display: 3.7-inch (480 x 800 pixels); Storage: 8GB, No card slot; Camera: 5MP with 720p HD videos; Battery: 1300 mAh
10Nokia E6
Best Nokia E6 is a top symbian based phone with a sharp touch screen and hardware QWERTY keypad.
Summary
For a price of around Rs. 17k, the E6 is a smartphone with the touchscreen plus physical QWERTY keypad, latest Symbian Anna OS, a sleek (albeit slightly heavy) form factor and an excellent battery life. While it is often said that the E-series competes directly with Blackberry smartphones, it is interesting to note that the E6 falls slam bang between two Blackberry smartphones (the Curve 3G @ Rs. 14k and the Bold 9700 @ Rs. 19k), and isn't really competing with either of them.
Platform: Symbian Anna; Processor: 680MHz ARM11 processor; Display: 2.46-inch TFT Display, 640x480 pixel resolution, capacitive touchscreen, Gorilla Glass; Storage: 8GB internal, microSD up to 32GB; Camera: 8MP with 720p HD video; Battery: 1500 mAh
